Hunts

Bob Cusack is one of Alaska's premier master hunting guides, specializing in brown and grizzly bear of exceptional size. Cusack has exclusive access to 92,000 acres of state land that produces some of the largest brown bear on the Alaska Peninsula. In his 46 years of guiding, Bob has delivered a 98% success rate with bears averaging ten feet in size. Arguably the most important statistic for Cusack’s Lodge is their 100% safety record. In 46 years of flying, boating, and guiding, Bob Cusack has been completely accident free.

Basecamp for all hunts begins in the comfort of Cusack’s Lodge on Lake Iliamna. From there, hunters and their guides are transported by boat or plane to remote hunting camps by experienced Alaska Bush Pilots. These remote camps include satellite cabins, house boats, and weather tight tent camps, whatever is required to get the best bear.

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game manages this area as a trophy bear area.  To accomplish this, the seasons are restricted to fall seasons on odd years and spring seasons on even years. The fall season is September 20-October 22 and the spring season is May 10-25.

Cusack’s combination of exclusive land, extensive experience, and quality guides promises an exciting and successful hunt of a lifetime. If you are contemplating a bear hunt, feel free to call Bob. He is happy to suggest the type of hunt that best meets your interests, needs, and physical abilities.
